Session Format
How long is a session?
Sessions last an hour and include a health and safety briefing and tutorial.
When should I arrive?
We suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes before your session to ensure waivers are signed and you don’t miss out on the full hour.
Can I spectate?
Anyone can come and watch! Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
What do I throw?
Adults and children aged 8 and over can throw our house axe blades.
Safety
Is it dangerous?
All personnel permitted on the range will have received a comprehensive safety brief from our qualified staff. Every session is supervised by our staff from start to finish.
While some risk always exists, we do everything possible to ensure your sessions are as safe as possible.
What is the age limit?
8-16 year olds can take part, providing there is an adult present to sign a waiver on their behalf.
We have also introduced sessions for under 8s with foam axes. Check out mad-jacks.im/booking/kids
Booking
Do you have to book?
It is advisable to book online to guarantee your session.
How do I book?
All bookings are made online via our website booking page.
What Payment Methods do you accept?
We accept card payments online and purchases made at the venue can be done so either with cash or card.
How much is private hire?
We tailor each private booking to the individual so we’ll sit down with you face to face and discuss your needs. Email booking@mad-jacks.im to enquire.
The Venue
Is there wheelchair access?
Our venue is wheelchair friendly throughout.
Do you do food?
We currently offer a BYOF policy, if you wish to order in pizzas/takeaway or bring your own snacks. Kindly note we don’t provide plates, cutlery or cups.
Can I bring my own alcohol to the venue?
No. We have formally been granted our alcohol licence by the Isle of Man Licensing Forum (with effect from 9 Dec 2021) and are pleased to have opened Mad Jack’s Glitch Bar to the public on Friday 10 December 2021.
As per regulations, we can no longer operate a Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) policy. All alcohol on premises is now subject to stricter control and you will be unable to consume your own alcohol on-site.
Please note: We reserve the right to refuse anyone we believe to be under the influence of alcohol before their session begins.
Can I play the games consoles without throwing axes?
Yes, absolutely. We want everyone to come and enjoy the space. You’re welcome to call in and play the arcade machines and consoles, work with a coffee, or just unwind after a long day. We encourage it.

Are there any competitive events?
We are starting up a brand new Mad Jacks League in 2021. Keep an eye on mad-jacks.im/league for more info!
Gift & Vouchers
Do I need to book to use my gift voucher?
We recommend getting in touch in advance so we can reserve you a slot. Call, email or drop us a message on Facebook.
How long is my voucher valid?
All gift vouchers are valid for 1 year from date of purchase.
